BEWARE OF CRAIGSLIST!!?

Recently today I had posted my resume on craigslist for a potential employer to contact me. I had gotten one responce rather quickly and was immediately interested because of the wages he was offering. After a few back and forth emails a red flag for me came up by how he was being so informal and unprofessional. I am very scared because my email address has both my first and last name and he asked me some personal questions like, where do you live(what town) and where I was moving to (told him i was looking for an apartment), where did you go to school…and so on..I am very stupid and nieve for actually devulging this info and i sincerely regret it now…at the end of our conversation he ended up pretty much asking if I would be his “*uck buddy” on the side on top of working for him…and asking me to wear revieling clothes to work…I responded to stop emailing me and that was not the type of job i was looking for…just goes to show you that u cant trust anyone nowadays…I wanted to share my experience with others that way more can be informed of the creeps out there…If you put an ad on craigslist for a job watch out for “john smith” haha that should have been my first tip off to this fake!! if anyone else has had a similar experence i would love to hear about them…thanks ….also what should i do if he keeps emailing me? so far hes stopped but im afraid he might become a stalker or something…thanks in advance

Yes also watch out for the apartment listings on there and personals. The apartment listings are often cheap but what they wont tell you is they are often in the worst part of town or are really not good in some other way I know I have used it for that before. Personals some people are genuine and good but there are creepy people out there always look to a public place. In fact you may be lucky but also most of the stuff they sell on there is stolen or defective also. So its not a great place for anything. I have even seen a post once where someone was confessing to being a serial killer and wanted others who were attracted by that. Go to some of the places on there and you might learn a lot of creepy stuff about people who live near you.

Jenny asks…

Whats this dream mean?

I was living back in the neighborhood i grew up in, In an apartment on the corner. I’m not sure if my brother was living with me or not but me and him were walking together at the time, I guess we were moving through the apartments looking for things to steal and sell. We ended up either in the mass back yard of Austin court our street or hazard courts yard, But there were sports rings and grad rings all over the yard i some how need they were fake tho and my brother got into a dispute with a man in the window of one of the apartments and then the man pointed a gun at my brother i defused the situation and we walked away back to our apartment. As we walked a girl was following us on the opposite side of the street she was a young skinny puerto rican wearing red and black. But she followed all the way to our house out of instinct i joked with her we talked laughed flirted then we went inside the house there was a small chill party going on so we sat down on the couch and resumed. Not to long passed when all of a sudden Tupac ( Yes the rapper) came bursting through the door shot in the chest. I ran to him and held him while he was on the floor and i was calling 911 at the same time but they didn’t answer even tho i was yelling info into the phone i ran outside for a minute to check the address but the street changed i didn’t know where i was but when i went inside the paramedics were already there. they emptied his pockets and i asked if i could take the contents but they wouldn’t let me and i woke up.

Lisa asks…

Could a debt collector leave phone messages without addressing my name?

I had already moved out me apartment ten years ago, and lately a collector identifying as fromthe state of Virginia (no idea of what gender) had been calling and left message without addressing to a specific person, asked for payment for credit card bill of 1 decade old(year 90′s), and stressed that there would be lawyer to follow up. Is this legal?

Administrator answers:

Whether it’s a scam or major violation of FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act), it’s sketchy. First of all, it is illegal for a debt collector to identify themselves as a government official; secondly, it is illegal for them to leave anything more than their contact information and that it is regarding personal or existing business. Thirdly, it is illegal for them to threaten legal action if they don’t have plans to sue you. It IS past the statute of limitations, but they have the right to resume collections on you until the debt is paid. This is all assuming there is a valid debt out there…this could possibly be phishing. Either way, I would save any messages/conversations and forward any info you have to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for further investigation. You can file a complaint with them here:
