i need to find low income apartments!!! in san jose, ca?

right now i am living in a luxury apartment here in san jose,ca paying $1200 a month in rent for a studio!
this is killing me and i actually qualify for low income so that is what i am trying to find but having a hard time doing it.. i am looking for one bedroom low income in san jose,ca thank you

Since you qualify you should have been given the list. Your social worker will give you a list, but you have to call them all to see how long their waiting lists are. You will need your paperwork from the HA.

Call the housing authority. There are some newer projects but who qualifies depends on where you fall against median income. Both you and he will have to be working full time to qualify, unless one is disabled. Expect to wait at least 3 years for an opening.

It is not going to happen. All of the low income apartments are in the low income areas.

i know northgate village is but there is a waiting list

You would have to contact the housing authority, they over see the subsidized housing.

I would bet they all have waiting lists if one of them does.

How can I stop a low income development near my home?

A developer has a development of low income apartments that will qualify for section 8 and has passed city board but not been through zoning yet(probably a moot point because it passed city board). Any advice besides consult attorney?

You contact the Housing Authority in your county, they oversee all subsidized housing, you have to qualify through them before you can apply. They will give you a list of places you qualify for.
