I agree this is discrimination… But as someone has already said (can’t mind who sorry!) a business does have the right to refuse admission.

It’s like some places refuse smoking on the premises.

Unfortunately tattoos are not to everyones tastes, and as a person with tattoos you have to face up to the fact that not everyone likes them or agrees with them and will look down on you for them.

But I do agree that they shouldn’t do that.

They would be able to refuse someone based on the colour of their skin, so why is it ok to do it based on pictures on the skin???

People with tattoos and piercings are not getting certain types of jobs, are not chosen for housing, and I am sure there is a host of things they have to endure.

I personally don’t care, some of the most responsible people I know have tattoos and piercings. But for some, there is a stigma associated with those that will part with conventional mores and outwardly display their position.

Linda asks…

What are my rights as a tenant when it comes to undesirable living conditions.?

I live in a very nice apartment community in San Antonio, TX and have moved three times within the same complex due to rat infestation. The pest control people contracted by the property owner told me that if they stop rats from coming into my apartment they will go into other units. They basically told me to live with it. There is a hole in the wall behind the stove and that’s where they are entering the apartment. Would I be in violation of any housing codes if I took care of the problem myself? I know I can fix it easily.

Administrator answers:

You need to read the site I listed below. It pertains specifically to Texas Tenant Land Lord Law and specifically mentions Rodents must be eradicated by the Land Lord. It describes how to force the Land Lord to do what the Land Lord is required to do to remedy problems of different natures.
