Laura asks…

sleeping lofts in new york city?

how common are sleeping lofts in nyc apartments, in co-ops, or condos?

Administrator answers:

Not so much in co-ops and condos, but in apartments they are quite common. Many people will buy/rent old warehouses and factories, and remodel them with lofts.

Michael asks…

I need an apartment in NYC with a view on central park, any suggestions?

I am looking for a loft, studio or 2 bedroom apartment with a view of central park. I dont want to spend more than $5000 a month for rent. Can anyone suggest a building? Please help me out.

Administrator answers:

You are going to need a really good and really aggressive agent to get that, it might take awhile.

How to make your room feel like a trendy New York City apartment?

How to make your room feel like a trendy New York City apartment?
I love the look of white, bright, modern NYC apartment or loft. How would I do that with a little change?

Administrator answers:

I would change the lights into a more modern sort of shape?

The room shouldn’t be completely whitewhite; often times, they end up looking all crappy. Maybe you should try a more yellowishwhite?

Glass furniture is always a plus.

Get a color accent in there. Maybe red?

Sofas? Or maybe beaniess. They’re awfully comfy. [:

And we New Yorkers tend to want to be all ‘artsy’ and ‘edgy’ sort of look. Put in a weird mutated colored blob of a painting on there. Or just your favorite painting but try to get a more modern art in there not Picasso or Monet sort of stuff.

Betty asks…

is the Meatpacking District in NYC more residential or commercial?

Are there lots of places to live in the meatpacking district? Apartments, lofts, etc? Or is it mostly industrial, plus commercial boutiques?
the more details you can give me the better. What is more prominent, what streets or areas are commercial, which are industrial, which are residential etc…
which places in the meatpacking district are best for nightlife?

Administrator answers:

Well, the Meatpacking district used to be 100% commercial, full of, well, meat packing companies, but over the years more and more businesses moved out and more and more buildings were converted to loft living spaces, so now it’s probably, like, 80-90% residential?

Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage all about the area…
